Ingredients

10 chicken drumsticks

1/2 cup pure maple syrup

1/4 cup soy sauce (or tamari for gluten-free)

2 tbsp Dijon mustard

1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 tsp smoked paprika

1/2 tsp black pepper

1/2 tsp salt

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional, for a kick)

Fresh parsley or green onions, for garnish

Instructions

Marinade Preparation: In a medium bowl, whisk together the maple syrup, soy sauce, Dijon mustard, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, smoked paprika, black pepper, salt, and cayenne pepper (if using) until well combined.

Drumsticks Marinade: Place the chicken drumsticks in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the top, ensuring each drumstick is coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, but overnight is best for maximum flavor.

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with aluminum foil or parchment paper for easy cleanup and place a wire rack on top.

Arrange Drumsticks: Remove the drumsticks from the marinade, allowing excess liquid to drip off. Arrange them in a single layer on the wire rack. Reserve the marinade for later basting.

Bake the Drumsticks: Bake the drumsticks in the preheated oven for 35-40 minutes, turning them halfway through cooking. Baste with the reserved marinade every 10 minutes for a glossy finish and delicious flavor.

Check for Doneness: Chicken is fully cooked when the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C). If desired, you can also broil the drumsticks for the last 2-3 minutes to achieve a crispy, caramelized skin.

Serve: Once cooked, remove the drumsticks from the oven and let them rest for a few minutes. Garnish with chopped parsley or green onions before serving.

Enjoy: Serve the sweet and savory maple-glazed chicken drumsticks warm with your favorite sides such as roasted vegetables, rice, or a fresh salad.
