Ingredients

2 cups all-purpose flour

1 teaspoon instant yeast

1 teaspoon salt

1 tablespoon olive oil

3/4 cup warm water (about 110°F or 43°C)

4 cloves garlic, minced

2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped

1 tablespoon fresh rosemary, finely chopped

1/2 teaspoon dried oregano

1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)

3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted

Sea salt, for sprinkling

Instructions

Make the Dough: In a large bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, instant yeast, and salt. Stir in the olive oil and warm water until a soft dough forms.

Knead the Dough: Transfer the dough to a lightly floured surface. Knead for about 5-7 minutes until the dough is smooth and elastic. Place it in a greased bowl, cover with a kitchen towel, and let it rise in a warm spot for 1 hour, or until doubled in size.

Prepare the Herb Mixture: While the dough is rising, combine the minced garlic, parsley, rosemary, oregano, and red pepper flakes (if using) in a small bowl. Set aside.

Roll Out the Dough: Once the dough has risen, preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Punch down the dough and turn it out onto a floured surface. Roll it out into a large rectangle (about 1/4 inch thick).

Add the Herb Mixture: Brush the melted butter over the surface of the rolled-out dough. Sprinkle the garlic herb mixture evenly on top.

Cut into Strips: Using a pizza cutter or sharp knife, slice the dough into 1-inch wide strips.

Twist the Strips: Take each strip and twist it several times to create spiral shapes. Place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, leaving space between each twist.

Bake the Flatbread Twists: Sprinkle sea salt over the twists for added flavor. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and crisp.

Serve and Enjoy: Let the twists cool slightly before serving. These garlic herb flatbread twists are perfect as a snack or appetizer. Enjoy warm!
