Ingredients

8 oz fettuccine or your favorite pasta

1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined

4 tablespoons unsalted butter

4 cloves garlic, minced

1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (adjust to taste)

1/2 cup chicken or vegetable broth

1 cup heavy cream

1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese

1 teaspoon lemon zest

2 tablespoons lemon juice

Salt and black pepper, to taste

Fresh parsley, chopped (for garnish)

Instructions

Cook the Pasta: In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.

Sauté the Shrimp: In a large skillet over medium heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter. Add the shrimp, season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes. Cook until the shrimp turn pink and opaque, about 2-3 minutes per side. Remove the shrimp from the skillet and set aside.

Make the Garlic Butter Sauce: In the same skillet, add the remaining 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add the minced garlic and sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant. Add the chicken or vegetable broth and bring to a simmer.

Cream Sauce: Reduce the heat to low and stir in the heavy cream. Cook for 2-3 minutes, allowing it to thicken slightly. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese, lemon zest, and lemon juice. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

Combine Everything: Add the cooked fettuccine and shrimp to the skillet. Toss to combine until the pasta is coated in the creamy sauce. If it’s too thick, add reserved pasta water a little at a time until desired consistency is reached.

Serve: Divide the creamy pasta among plates. Garnish with chopped parsley and an extra sprinkle of Parmesan if desired. Enjoy your delightful dish!
