Ingredients

2 large ripe bananas

1 cup dark chocolate chips (or milk chocolate, if preferred)

1 tablespoon coconut oil (optional, for a smoother chocolate)

½ cup chopped nuts (like almonds or walnuts)

½ cup shredded coconut (unsweetened)

Sea salt, for sprinkling (optional)

Instructions

Prep the Bananas: Peel the bananas and cut them into 1-inch thick slices. Arrange the banana slices in a single layer on a parchment-lined baking sheet.

Melt the Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring in between, until the chocolate is completely melted and smooth.

Dip the Banana Slices: Using a fork or skewer, dip each banana slice into the melted chocolate, ensuring it's coated on all sides. Let any excess chocolate drip off, and then place the chocolate-covered banana on the prepared baking sheet.

Add Toppings: While the chocolate is still wet, sprinkle the dipped banana slices with chopped nuts, shredded coconut, or a pinch of sea salt. Be creative with your toppings!

Freeze the Bites: Once all slices are coated and topped, place the baking sheet in the freezer for at least 2 hours, or until the chocolate is firm and the bites are fully frozen.

Serve and Enjoy: Once frozen, transfer the chocolate banana bites to an airtight container for storage. You can enjoy them straight from the freezer or let them sit for a minute to soften slightly for the perfect bite!
