Ingredients

1 cup almond butter

1 cup dark chocolate chips (70% cacao or more)

2 tablespoons coconut oil

2 tablespoons maple syrup (or honey for non-vegan)

½ teaspoon vanilla extract

Pinch of sea salt

Optional toppings: chopped nuts, shredded coconut, or flaky sea salt

Instructions

Prepare the Chocolate Mixture: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the dark chocolate chips and coconut oil. Microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until the mixture is completely melted and smooth.

Mix Almond Butter Filling: In another bowl, mix together the almond butter, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and a pinch of sea salt. Stir well until smooth and thoroughly combined.

Layer in the Pan: Line a square baking dish (8x8 inches works well) with parchment paper, leaving some overhang for easy removal. Pour half of the melted chocolate mixture into the bottom of the pan and spread it evenly. Place it in the freezer for about 10 minutes until slightly set.

Add Almond Butter Layer: Remove the pan from the freezer and spread the almond butter mixture over the first layer of chocolate, smoothing it out evenly.

Top with Chocolate: Pour the remaining melted chocolate over the almond butter layer and spread it to cover completely.

Add Toppings: Sprinkle any optional toppings over the chocolate while it’s still wet, such as chopped nuts, shredded coconut, or flaky sea salt.

Freeze Until Firm: Cover the pan with plastic wrap or foil and freeze for at least 2 hours or until the squares are fully set.

Cut and Serve: Once frozen solid, use the parchment paper to lift the slab out of the pan. Cut into small squares. Enjoy immediately or store in an airtight container in the freezer for up to 3 months.
