Ingredients

1 medium ripe cantaloupe, cubed (about 4 cups)

1 medium ripe honeydew melon, cubed (about 4 cups)

8 ounces thinly sliced prosciutto

Fresh basil or mint leaves (for garnish)

Balsamic glaze (for drizzling)

Black pepper (to taste)

16 wooden or metal skewers (8-inch)

Instructions

Prepare the Melon: Cut the cantaloupe and honeydew melons in half and remove the seeds. Scoop out the flesh with a melon baller or cut into evenly sized 1-inch cubes.

Cut the Prosciutto: If needed, cut the slices of prosciutto into halves or thirds so that they can wrap comfortably around the melon cubes.

Assemble the Skewers: Take a skewer and thread a cube of cantaloupe followed by a folded piece of prosciutto, then a cube of honeydew. Repeat the process until each skewer is filled, leaving some space at the ends for easier handling. Aim for 3-4 cubes of melon per skewer.

Garnish: Once all skewers are assembled, place them on a serving platter. Tear fresh basil or mint leaves and scatter them around for a pop of color and added aroma.

Drizzle and Season: Drizzle balsamic glaze over the skewers for an added burst of flavor, and finish with a sprinkle of freshly cracked black pepper to taste.

Serve: These skewers can be served immediately as a refreshing appetizer or chilled in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before serving for a cold treat.
