Crunchy Chili-Lime Tofu Cubes

Ingredients
  

1 block (14 oz) firm tofu, pressed and cubed

2 tablespoons corn starch

1 tablespoon olive oil

1 tablespoon soy sauce

1 teaspoon chili powder

1 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon cumin

Zest of 1 lime

Juice of 1 lime

Fresh cilantro, for garnish

Sea salt, to taste

Optional: sliced jalapeños for added heat

Prep the Tofu: Drain and press the tofu for at least 15 minutes to remove excess moisture. Cut into 1-inch cubes.

    Coat the Tofu: In a mixing bowl, toss the cubed tofu with corn starch until well-coated. This will give the tofu a crunchy exterior.

      Marinate: In another bowl, whisk together the olive oil, soy sauce, chili powder, garlic powder, cumin, lime zest, and lime juice. Add the coated tofu cubes and gently toss to coat evenly. Let marinate for at least 15 minutes.

        Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

          Bake the Tofu: Spread the marinated tofu cubes in a single layer on the prepared baking sheet. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the tofu is golden and crispy.

            Season: Once out of the oven, sprinkle sea salt to taste. If you like it spicy, add sliced jalapeños for an extra kick.

              Garnish and Serve: Transfer the tofu cubes to a serving platter, garnish with fresh cilantro, and serve immediately. Enjoy as a snack or as a protein-packed topping for salads, tacos, or grain bowls!
