Ingredients

1 lb Brussels sprouts, trimmed and halved

3 tablespoons olive oil

1 tablespoon balsamic vinegar

2 tablespoons maple syrup

1 teaspoon garlic powder

½ teaspoon smoked paprika

Salt and pepper, to taste

¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional)

2 tablespoons chopped walnuts or pecans (optional, for extra crunch)

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper for easy cleanup.

Prepare the Brussels Sprouts: In a large bowl, toss the halved Brussels sprouts with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, maple syrup, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Make sure each sprout is well coated.

Spread on Baking Sheet: Lay the Brussels sprouts out on the prepared baking sheet in a single layer, cut side down for maximum crispiness.

Roast in Oven: Roast the Brussels sprouts in the preheated oven for about 20-25 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy on the edges. Halfway through (around 12 minutes in), shake the pan or turn the Brussels sprouts to ensure even cooking.

Add Cheese and Nuts (Optional): If you’d like to add a cheesy flavor, sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the Brussels sprouts in the last 5 minutes of roasting. Also, if using nuts for added texture, toss them in during the last 5 minutes to lightly toast.

Serve and Enjoy: Once the Brussels sprouts are crispy and caramelized, remove them from the oven. Let them cool slightly before serving. They’re perfect as a side dish or a tasty snack!
