2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking soda

1/2 tsp salt

1 cup unsalted butter, softened

3/4 cup granulated sugar

3/4 cup packed brown sugar

1 tsp vanilla extract

2 large eggs

2 cups chocolate chunks (dark and milk chocolate mix)

1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans (optional)

Sea salt flakes for garnish

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line two baking sheets with parchment paper.

    Mix Dry Ingredients: In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined. Set aside.

      Cream Butter and Sugars: In a large mixing bowl, use an electric mixer to cream the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar together until light and fluffy (about 2-3 minutes).

        Incorporate Eggs and Vanilla: Add the vanilla extract and eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.

          Combine Mixtures: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, mixing on low speed until just combined. Do not overmix. Gently fold in the chocolate chunks and nuts (if using) with a spatula or wooden spoon.

            Scoop the Dough: Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop rounded tablespoons of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing them about 2 inches apart.

              Sprinkle with Sea Salt: For an extra touch, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt flakes on top of each cookie dough ball before baking.
