Ingredients

1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough

1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese

1 cup chili (canned or homemade, preferably with beans)

1/2 teaspoon garlic powder

1/2 teaspoon onion powder

1/4 teaspoon cumin

Salt and pepper to taste

1 egg (for egg wash)

Optional toppings: sliced jalapeños, chopped green onions, sour cream

Instructions

Preheat the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).

Prepare the Dough: Unroll the crescent roll dough on a lightly floured surface. Separate it into triangles along the perforated lines.

Make the Filling: In a medium bowl, mix together the chili, shredded cheddar cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, salt, and pepper until well combined.

Assemble the Snacks: Place about 1-2 tablespoons of the chili and cheese mixture at the wide end of each crescent triangle. Roll the dough from the wide end to the tip to form crescent shapes, ensuring to tuck in the sides as you roll to prevent filling from spilling out.

Egg Wash: In a small bowl, whisk the egg and use a brush to apply a thin layer over each crescent roll for that golden finish.

Bake: Arrange the filled crescent rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Bake in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.

Serve: Remove from the oven and allow to cool for a few minutes. Serve warm with optional toppings like sliced jalapeños, chopped green onions, and a dollop of sour cream.
